WALKING OFF A WINNER…
Melky Mesa’s walk off two run home run was the second game winning homer and the third walk off winning hit in SWB Yankees playoff history…In the Governors’ Cup winning season of 2008, the Yankees walked off twice on route to the league title…Shelly Duncan’s two run homer in game four against the Paw Sox at PNC Field on September 7, 2008 with a 10th inning shot off Edgar Martinez…The Yankees walked off again in the second game of the Governors’ Cup finals against the Durham Bulls picking up an RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning by Bernie Castro off Bulls pitcher Ben Hendrickson.

STAYING ALIVE…
The Yankees picked up their first win when facing elimination in a playoff series since the franchise became a Yankees affiliate in 2007…On three previous occasions the Yankees were facing an elimination game and fell to the opposition…SWB lost game four 4-3 to the Richmond Braves in 2007 at PNC Field, lost game three of the 2009 Governors’ Cup Finals to Durham 3-2 at PNC Field and dropped game four in an opening round playoff series by a 11-5 score also at PNC Field.

THE STARTER…
Left hander Vidal Nuno makes his Triple-A and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre debut in game four of the opening round playoff series against the Pawtucket Red Sox Saturday night at Frontier Field…Nuno began his 2012 season with the Single-A Tampa Yankees appearing in 11 games making one start…The left hander went 1-1 with a 2.96 ERA and was promoted to Double-A Trenton where he posted a 9-5 record with a 2.45 ERA in 20 starts with the Thunder, walking 27 and striking out 100 in 114.0 IP…After getting drafted by Cleveland in the 48th round in 2009, he signed as a free agent with NY on June 11, 2011
