Going for Eight in a Row

Eduardo Nunez has seven stolen bases in his last three games

The Yankees extended their season best win streak to seven games with Wednesday’s 2-1, 12 inning win over Buffalo.  The seven game streak is Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s longest win streak since an eight game run from August 18-27, 2010…The longest winning streak in SWB franchise history was set by the 2009 Yankees squad who won 11 in a row from 4/9 – 4/19.

Eduardo Nunez has been running wild in the first three games of the five consecutive against the Bisons with seven stolen bases.  Nunez set a SWB season high with three steals on Monday night and added two more on Wednesday afternoon. Nunez helped the Yankees “steal” a win on Thursday night, leading off the top of the 12th with a single before stealing second and third and then scoring the winning run on a sacrifice fly.  He is seven for eight in the three games against the Bisons and is 14 of 17 in stolen bases with SWB on the season. Nunez stole a career high 23 bases with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2010 in 28 attempts.
