Finishing the season series with the Chiefs at Alliance Bank Stadium
ALL OF SUNDAY’S OFFENSE…
Corban Joseph provided all of the Yankees offense on Sunday night with a pair of solo homers in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s 3-1 loss in the opening game of the double header and the 1-0 shutout win in the night cap. Joseph, who homered in his first Triple-A at bat after joining the Yankees at Norfolk on June 1st this season hit his ninth off game one starter Yunesky Maya giving SWB a brief 1-0 lead. His second homer of the day and 10th of the season came off game two starter Mitch Atkins and was the only run of the game for either team.
A BIG FLY SEASON HIGH…
Corban Joseph’s 10 homers with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre are a career high and marks the first time that the infielder has been in double digits in home runs in his five year professional career. Joseph’s previous single season best was six HR hit with Single-A Tampa in 2010. The second baseman has doubled his previous season best with a combined 12 in 2012: 10 with SWB and two HR with Double-A Trenton (May 5-31) prior to his first promotion to Triple-A.
