Cal Ripken makes a pre-game appearance, while the Yankees and Red Wings continue a four game series at Frontier Field

CAL RIPKEN MAKES AN APPEARANCE AT FRONTIER FIELD…
Cal Ripken makes his return to Rochester to be inducted into the International League Hall of Fame. Ripken, known as baseball’s Iron Man, played 21 seasons with the Baltimore Orioles before retiring in 2001. He played in a major league record 2,632 consecutive games for the Orioles and was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.

ROMINE RETURNS…
Austin Romine has been added to the SWB active roster as he continues his Major League rehab assignment after missing the majority of the 2012 season with a back injury. The Yankees second round selection in the 2007 First Year Player Draft made his Major League debut with New York in 2011 appearing in nine games hitting .158 (3-19)…Romine began the 2011 season with Double-A Trenton hitting .286 (96-336) with 43R, 13 2B, 6HR and 47 RBI in 85 games…He joined the SWB Yankees making his debut on September 2nd. Romine appeared in four game with SWB hitting .133 (2-15) with 1RBI before getting his call up to New York…During his rehab stint this summer beginning with the GCL Yankees (7/13 – 7/24) in 9G he hit .208 (5-24) with 5R, 3 2B, 5RBI, 5BB and 3K. Romine’s MLB rehab was transferred to the Tampa Yankees for 5G (7/26-8/5) where he hit .389 (7-18) with 2R, 1HR, 1RBI, 1BB with 3K.
