THE STARTER…
Adam Warren makes his second start of the season against Indianapolis in the opening game of the four game series with the Indians…Warren evened his mark at 6-6 with a win in his last start against Charlotte at Knights Stadium on July 27th…The right hander allowed five hits and three runs over 6.0 innings to beat the Knights for the first time in two starts this season…Over his last three starts covering 17.2 IP, he has struck out 16 opposing hitters…On the season Warren is 6-6 with a 3.69 ERA, second among SWB starters behind Ramon Ortiz’s 3.16 ERA…Earlier in 2012 Warren made his MLB debut with New York earlier this season on June 29th vs. the Chicago White Sox at Yankee stadium tossing 2.1 innings allowing 8H, 6R, 6ER, 2HR, with 2BB and 1K…The right hander threw a complete game, five hit shutout in the first game of a DH at Norfolk on June 3rd, beginning a stretch of 16.0 consecutive shutout innings (6/4 – 6/14), which has been the longest streak for any SWB pitcher this season…A fourth round draft choice in the 2009 First Year Player Draft from the University of North Carolina, Warren became the first player from the ’09 draft class to appear at Triple-A in 2011, going 6-8 with a 3.60 ERA in 27 starts for SWB.

WHO’S IN FIRST?…
Technically the Yankees who moved backed into a first place tie with Pawtucket following Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s off day on Wednesday, which was a game day and a 3-2, 10 inning loss for the Paw Sox at Lehigh Valley. SWB has one fewer win than the Red Sox but also one fewer loss and “lead” the IL North by 1/100th of a percentage point. The Red Sox jumped back into first by a half game with their 4-2 win over the Yankees on Tuesday night, marking the eighth time that the IL North lead changed hands from July 20th to the end of the month.
