WE KNOW YOU GUYS…
Two of the Gwinnett Braves have ties to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as former SWB Yankees players.  Jordan Parraz and Buddy Carlyle both played with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the 2011 season.  Carlyle appeared in 27 games with Scranton/WB making two starts for the team posting a 2-2 record with a 2.98 ERA.  Carlyle also appeared in 8 games with New York going 0-1 with a 4.70 ERA.  Parraz hit .289 and tied a career high with 28 doubles. Parraz hit 9 homers and drove in 52 runs with SWB.

NEW ARM IN THE PEN…
Danny Farquhar joined the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre roster from Double-A Trenton on July 19th.  The right hander was picked up off of waivers after being designated for assignment by the Oakland Athletics on June 26th. Farquhar was outrighted by the Yankees on July 1st and joined the Thunder where he appeared in six games with a 1-0 record and a 0.00 ERA with four saves.  Originally a 10th round selection of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2008 First Year Player Draft, Farquhar made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays appearing in two games in 2011.  He began the season in Double-A New Hampshire (0-1-1, 2.97) with Toronto and was with Triple-A Sacramento (1-2-0, 10.13) in the Oakland system when picked up by New York.

RUSSO RAKING…
Kevin Russo’s seventh inning single on Wednesday night extended his current hit streak to 10 games.  The double digit hit streak is his third of the season.  The infielder/outfielder hit in 11 straight from May 15th – 26th and again from June 3rd – 15th.  During his current run of 10 games Russo is hitting .462 (18-39) with 10R, 2B, 8RBI, 5BB, 7K, 2SB, CS, and a SF.  He has raised his overall batting average from .271 to .296
