Warren ready to start the second half off strong, Yankees win suspended game 3-0

Matt Antonelli and David Phelps made their return to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre roster on July 12th. Phelps returns after spending the majority of the year with the New York Yankees. He will make his first start of the season for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees on Saturday. Antonelli rejoins the team after being designated for assignment and then unconditionally released just before the All-Star break. He rejoins the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankee roster, but will be on the disabled list as he is still dealing with a hand issue.
YANKEES HANG ON FOR SHUTOUT VICTORY…
When the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and the Syracuse Chiefs began today’s game, the date was April 10. Well, on July 12th the game was finally finished with the Yankees taking a 3-0 victory improving to 49-43 on the season. The Yankees held a 2-0 lead after four innings when the game was suspended due to rain. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre added another run extending its lead to 3-0, where it would stay. Mustelier didn’t start the game, as he was not with the team in April, but he did have an RBI double in its completion. Doug Bernier and Colin Curtis had the other RBI for the Yankees. Nelson Figueroa got the win tossing three innings in relief of Yankee starter Ramon Ortiz. Cory Wade picked up the save, tossing two innings of shutout baseball. Mitch Atkins suffered the loss for the Chiefs, allowing three runs on five hits. He threw 151 pitched over the two dates, striking out four and walking six.
