SWB YANKEES GAME NOTES – JUNE 4th
6-4 Game Notes

WARREN’S GAME ONE GEM…
Adam Warren pitched the Yankees to a win, their only win in the series thus far,  in the first game of Sunday afternoon’s double header shutting out the Tides over 7.0 innings on five hits with six strikeouts and no walks.  It was the first comeplete game shutout for a Yankees pitcher in 2012 and the first since DJ Mitchell pitched back-to-back complete game shutouts in a pair of DH starts against Pawtucket on July 2nd and Rochester on July 9th.

DONE WITH THE TIDES…
The Yankees will be finished up with the Tides for the season following the finale game of the series this afternoon’s series finale.  The Yankees need a win over Norfolk to gain a 4-4 season split.  Scranton/Wilkes-Barre’s next series against the Durham Bulls will be the final regular season series against Durham.  The Bulls lead the current season series over SWB 3-1, having won three of four against the Yankees at Frontier Field May 11th – 14th.  The Tides and eventually Bulls join the Columbus Clippers (6-2) and Toledo Mud Hens (6-2) as the two teams that the Yankees are finished with in 2012.

This is “Rip Tide” like many mascots in professional sports he is liked by children although most adults don’t seem to know exactly what this thing is.
