SWB YANKEES GAME NOTES  – May 28th vs. Toledo

5-28 Notes

Kevin Russo’s season high 10-game hitting streak came to an end yesterday afternoon in Buffalo. Russo went 0-4 with a strikeout in a 1-0 victory over the Bisons at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo. Over his last ten games, Russo is hitting .304 (14-46) with five runs and two RBI.

Toledo will send three left-handers to the mound against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre over the next four days. Southpaw Andy Oliver opens the four game set on the bump for the Bisons. The Yankees have enjoyed much more success over  left-handed pitchers than against righties. Through 46 games, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre is hitting .279 against lefties and just .245 against righties. Kevin Russo leads the pack against lefties with an average .370 in 54 at bats with eight RBI. Colin Curtis is also raking against lefties, he is hitting .343 in 42 at bats with six RBI.
